daemonum-corvum:

✪; Sebastian was happy to see the other so excited over the honeybun. He slung the duffel bag over his shoulder, following the other outside. “Stay close to me,” he ordered, letting the younger male lead him to the grocery store. Sebastian made sure no Walkers were around before grabbing Ciel’s wrist and rushing into the store. “Stay safe, yell if you need me,” he ruffled the bluenette’s hair affectionately before browsing around the store. He found the grill, shoving the box into the duffel bag along with a few cans of soup. He kept a close eye on Ciel, making sure the boy wasn’t getting into anything he shouldn’t be. Sebastian found the charcoal, adding it to his duffel bag. The store was large, but most of the shelves were empty. He browsed all of the aisles, finding a rather cute kitten plushie, and stuffing it into his duffel bag in memory of his own cat. His eyes widened when he came across a familiar container. It was a jar of Nutella, one of Sebastian’s favorite substances. “Ciel! Come here! I found something that you’d like!” he called out, laughing.

It wasn’t so bad living like this. Everything small was something to be happy over. However, Sebastian felt bad. This child would never get to graduate. He would never get to get a job or go to college, he would never experience true life. Nevertheless, he wanted Ciel to be happy. He wanted to see the boy smile more than anything else.

──♚── iel nodded his head in agreement and started browsing around the store for things he’d like. He stuffed his back as full of canned foods as he could, and when he couldn’t fit anymore, he stuffed some in his pockets. One thing he did find was a single pack of batteries and one of those cheapy handheld game things that had like 40 different old games in it. He smiled wide and stuffed that into his bag as well until he heard Sebastian yell for him. Little did they know that it alerted the old shop keeper that was shambling around in the back room.

The boy made his way over, rounding the corner and gasping when he saw the nutella in Sebastian’s hand. He stopped dead in his tracks and smiled so wide, like they’d just won the lottery. However, their happiness was cut short as a walker rounded the corner silently before groaning and reaching out for the small boy. Ciel didn’t even have time to turn around and see the creature coming for him.
