✪; He couldn’t sleep. He never could. The male enjoyed the quiet silence, until he detected something odd. It was a rustling sound that caught his attention, and for some reason it bothered him. Sebastian breathed in, and he only sat up when he heard Ciel’s voice. It wasn’t his place to intrude, but he was nervous. Was the boy bit somewhere? Was he turning? Sebastian jumped out of bed at the thought of the other becoming one of those mindless beasts. That would not be the outcome of Ciel Phantomhive. He ran out of his room and threw open the door to Ciel’s room, rushing to him. The boy was asleep, dreaming, having an intense nightmare. Sebastian pulled the other into his arms, trying to calm him.
“Ciel… Ciel you’re alright… You’re safe. Nothing is harming you…” he whispered. The raven haired man did not know how to comfort another being, much less a child. It was in this moment that he truly realized how small Ciel was. He was so tiny and thin. He was frail. Sebastian stroked the other’s hair in an attempt to soothe him. “I’m right here, Ciel. I’m here for you. I’m right here. You’re not alone, you’re safe…”
Safe. Was he truly safe? Right here in a locked apartment with a strong man, Ciel was safe. But in the big picture of things, no one was safe. Not a single person was truly safe. Nothing was garaunteed, not even life. Sebastian didn’t know if the boy was still asleep or not, but the thought of leaving him in this state was just vile. “Ciel? Are you alright?” He was terrible when it came to words for comforting. He still held the bluenette in his soft embrace, hoping his added body heat and compression would remind the boy of comfort and his past home. He feared for the boy’s well-being.
