“Alright Mrs. Johnson, Ill refill your prescription, but I am going to lower the dosage. Your liver can’t keep up with what you are currently taking much longer.”
A silky tone was carried in his voice as he finished up with his current patient. She was addicted to the medication and for some reason the exposure to the profession softened a side of him and he tended to help in certain cases more than he should.
"Ill leave this with the nurses station and they will set up your next appointment.”
He paced out of the room and walked into his office. Sitting with a bit of a slump he looked over the stack of paperwork on his desk and his crimson eyes caught a hand written letter. Sliding his finger under the fold he tore open the seal and looked over the letter of request. It seemed he was going to take on a new apprentice, "Hmm”
He smiled at the thought as he wrote back approving the request and looking forward to who would walk through the door.
As a career study at school, all the children were required to think of a profession they would be interested in and were to shadow someone with that career. Many chose policemen, firemen, elected officials, doctors.. Ciel wasn’t an exception to this. He’d chosen to shadow a doctor. A doctor’s life was rather interesting. Sometimes, you were powerful enough to be in control over whether someone lived or not. That intrigued Ciel for some reason. It was exciting. When he’d gotten the approval to shadow a certain Dr. Michaelis, the boy was excited.
When the day finally came, Ciel dressed nicely and appeared at the doctor’s office. The nurses kindly directed him to Dr. Michaelis’ office and he stood outside the door before reaching up and gently knocking against it.
