just-a-demon-butler:

A moment’s hesitation spoke loud words on Sebastian’s part. Silence set itself heavily upon both the Earl and butler’s shoulders. Then the usual beatific smile of splendor and ever so well mannered grace light up the demon’s face. A ruse that never seemed to convince the child before Sebastian, however the two seemed to care so very little.

Of course, my Lord.” It’s not as if Sebastian’s threatening smile proved to work wonders on the Phantomhive Staff. All Sebastian would have to do is enforce his authority onto Bardroy and the matter would be solved instantly. Or so Sebastian wanted to think, until Ciel gave the order for Sebastian to remain with Ciel. The Phantomhive Earl proved to be ever the damper of the mood.

But.. But! If only for a moment could Sebastian be allowed to break away from the young Master’s side— the demon could quickly go and retrieve the kitten and add it to his growing collection of divine felines that remain in an UNDISCLOSED location in Sebastian’s quarters.

Ciel trained his gaze on Sebastian, watching to see if he showed any sort of break in that demeanor of his. Even if he didn’t, Ciel just knew that it was torturing the demon to not just run off and play with the creature.

I’ll call for Bard right now and give him my orders.” The young earl was adamant on keeping Sebastian within his sights. Hearing Mey-rin out in the hallway, Ciel stood from his seat and stepped over to the doorway to peek out. Some words were exchanged before the young teen shut the door once more and returned to his seat. It wasn’t long before the chef lumbered into the office looking slightly confused. The boy explained the situation, trying his hardest not to grin. “And so I’d like for you to take this kitten to town. Perhaps give it to someone or even just.. Let it go. I don’t really care.

Bard took the tiny ball of fluff from Sebastian and gazed at him for a moment, wondering why he wasn’t making Sebastian take care of it. He didn’t question it though. Out he went with the tiny package, leaving Ciel and Sebastian there in the room alone. Once Bard had left, the teen gazed back down at his work and sorted it all out, not saying another word to Sebastian for the time being.
